I began my career in the Insurance industry in 1993 with Mid-South Insurance Company as a Sales and Service Representative for the SC and GA territory.  I left Mid-South in January of 1998 to take a position with Ferguson Marketing Group in Charleston, SC as an Association Sales and Service Representative.  I left FMG in 2003 to form American Benefit Services. American Benefit Services, LLC is a Third Party Administrator specializing in Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Reimbursement Arrangements, COBRA Administration and other services to assist employers in providing viable health care options to their employees. ABS was founded in December of 2003.

I have also been active in the National Association of Health Underwriters since joining the industry.  I was the President of the Columbia (SC) Association of Health Underwriters from 2001-2003, and the SC Association of Health Underwriters (SCAHU) from 2010-2011 .  I served on the NAHU National Legislative Council from 2010 – 2015.  I have served on the Board of Directors for both the Columbia (SC) Association of Health Underwriters and/or the SC Association of Health Underwriters since 1997, and I am currently serving as the Legislative Chair for the State Association.

I have been married to my wife, Burgin, for over 30 years and we have two children. Our son, Cole, and daughter, Hagan.  I enjoy watching baseball of all levels, playing golf and spending time at the beach.  I am also an avid Gamecock fan!
